                        The Sauce Boss - Bill Wharton - Much like the delicious , mouth-watering gumbo that the "Sauce Boss"  has been dishing up for frenzied audiences for decades , his latest sessions , "The Sauce" , certainly stirs up a delectable blend of musical goodness with  many exciting and unexpected surprises.  His music , much like New Orleans style gumbo , is a true Southern tradition . Bill Wharton's music delivers a kick,  unlike his own brand of hot sauce(sauceboss.com/hot-sauce) , those special musical moments are the perfect cajun seasonings, making  this uniquely original " swamp funk"  an unforgettable experience .

                       Indeed , "The sauce" is a potent and flavorful  gumbo , different genres of music building off one another , approachable but unpredictable , mixing in the soulful feeling of the blues , a totally personal batch of songs that leaves you with a comfortable feeling , desiring more , delivering the very best  . Bill Wharton has been delivering  Louisiana soul food through his music , lyrics , and stories for decades now  , a gumbo of sounds that is good for the soul , feeding so many people in a lot of different ways . 

                     Bill Wharton - " Gumbo is good for the soul . It's a metaphor . There's a lot of different stuff in the gumbo just like the people in the audience - a lot of different  stuff - But somehow all this different stuff comes together and works to make something good."

                 Much like Bill Wharton's music , which crosses all borders , genres , and  boundaries , gumbo crosses all class barriers , appearing on the tables of the poor as well as the wealthy . Bill Wharton has performed in front of zealous audiences world-wide , electrifying crowds large and small , serving thousands and thousands of bowls of gumbo from stages large and small . He has also served thousands of shelter meals across the United States, providing soulful comfort to those in need of relief through his "Planet Gumbo".

                On these latest sessions Bill took his time , relaxed into the groove , and brought his audience along into spaces where they have never been before . With Swampside Studios right next to his home Bill was able to record his solo/one man band thing while also dishing out some potent seasonings with a high energy trio format (two guitars and drums) . Helping to stir the pot are Neal Goree, guitars , Brett Crook , drums , and  Bill's good friend Damon Fowler , guitar and lap steel . When you can go from a Jimmy Buffett track ( which Jimmy originally wrote about the Sauce Boss) , "I Will Play for Gumbo" (check out Damon Fowlers sizzling lap steel guitar), to his smooth and funky take on The Beatles , "The Word" , reinventing the classic  Van Morriston song , "Gloria" , tossing into the mix his solo "Down By The Sea" , performed on his 1933 National Steel Guitar , blues rock to ballads , "to the most intimate of acoustic whisperings" ,  every song coming across with heart-felt authenticity and plenty of soul . The guitar work throughout is fantastic ! Every musician - in the groove , having fun , and totally in sync .  Stirring the pot of life , Bill Wharton / the Sauce Boss delivers plenty of "swampy slide guitar and raw vocals , in a visceral mix on top of a churning groove .                There is a lot of love poured into his gumbo .
