It's not your typical "Best Of" but a collection of favorites compiled by founding guitarist Kim Simmonds - " Too Much of a Good Thing' is a compilation of some of the best songs and musicians that collaborated with Kim throughout the years," says Kim's wife, Debbie Simmonds. This outstanding package reflects songs that Kim enjoyed playing and listening to most from that 15-year period, 1992-2007. This extraordinary compilation is taken from 5 Savoy Brown recordings: "The Blues Keep Me Holding On," "Bring It Home," "Steel," and "Strange Dreams". Three of the songs were written by the greats - John Lee Hooker, Willie Dixon, and Lowell Fulsom—reflecting the love, admiration, and respect that Kim had for the music of the blues musicians who paved the way for people like him. In fact, when choosing songs to record or perform live Kim never veered far from the Blues direction, demanding that the band around him have that same focus and direction.Kim Simmonds also had that innate gift of tailoring the music that he created to meet the ever-changing roster of musicians who played in Savoy Brown over the decades.
