             Been a huge pleasure for me to watch the remarkable - and well-deserved  - success of Katie Henry as her career continues to skyrocket . From the first time that I saw Katie Henry and her remarkable band perform in the downstairs room at the Grande Saloon in Clifton , New Jersey I knew this was someone who was going to make a huge mark on the music scene . As I have enjoyed Katie and her bandmates at so many different venues , stages large and small , including performing many times as part of the Historic Botany Summer Concerts in Clifton , New Jersey , I have watched the crowds' reactions , the joy and excitement that washes over every one of them . Katies magnetic personality , her boundless energy , and persistent enthusiasm bonds her with every audience. Katie Henry is a tsunami on the music scene , unstoppable and unpredictable , with plenty of power , passion , and enormous talent to share with the world for many , many years to come.

             Katie Henry - "Get Goin' - Produced by Bernard Allison , these sessions , recorded in Germany , 2023 , are some of the strongest recordings to date by Katie Henry . Bernard has supported , encouraged , and mentored Katie,giving this charismatic singer-songwriter - instrumentalist free reign to push herself musically . 

             "Working with Bernard Allison and his band was a blessing" , beams Katie as she recalls the chemistry she felt at the recording session in November , 2023. "Not only are they amazing top notch players , they are also good people with big hearts . They really support and believe in me , which means so much to me and my growth as an artist. I was inspired by them throughout the whole process."

               "Get Goin" presents sides of Katie that have seldom been seen outside of her live performances .  Her songwriting is deeply personal , vulnerable and tender at times , defiant and resilient at other times , compositions coming straight from her soul with tugs at the heart. Fiery , passionate and determined Katie brings  so much more into these recordings , compositions that come from a place deep within her . As Bernard says himself," This album represents multiple sides of Katie Henry .I felt that was missing on her previous album . Her vocals , keyboards,and guitar all sit in the right place on this production . Her songwriting comes straight from the heart . Her voice has clarity and power , in the vein of Bonnie Raitt or Norah Jones."

        "Wake Up Time" is deeply personal to Katie - "It's very personal . I think people will relate to it because it tells a story of surrendering to the truth , even when it's painful."

         So while you get the sizzling , guitar-driven blues rock of " Kerosine" , and the driving funk-blues of "Jump" - here Katies keyboards whirl and swirl around a classic 70's guitar mix; and Katie channels the unique sound of New Orleans funk - a fusion of traditional New Orleans jazz , R&B and soul - on the amazing " Voodoo Woman" - Katie really shines brightly on tracks like " A Doll's Heart" and " The Lions Den " where her voice becomes a "sirens song" , appealing and hard to resist , captivating and enchanting , showcasing Katies emotional singing power . She is certainly unforgettable on " Nobody's Fault But Mine" , a solo track , featuring Katie's deeply emotional and expressive work on the keys , while her distinctive voice elevates the song to another level altogether. Every track on "Get Goin' " is fresh and spontaneous , allowing as much versatility as possible . 

          Bernard Allison and his crack band of multi-talented musicians bring much of themselves into the mix here . "What I try to do is not just play the 12 bar Blues . I grew up with a little Rock , a lot of Funk , we try and label ourselves Groove , it's all about the Groove for me." Bernard likes to go outside the box , being unpredictable , while staying rooted in the Blues. His sense of adventure and limitless creativity is reflected on " Get Goin' " at every turn. Taking Katie into unfamiliar musical settings , and giving her the room - and the comfort- to rise to the occasion , makes this release a true standout . Truly impressive , "Get Goin' " breaks new ground for Katie Henry that long-time fans hope will bring her to even greater heights in the future .
